Electric Mobility

E _mobility

Electric vehicles are an essential part of the solution to meeting Europe's climate and energy challenges. They will play a growing role in mobility, not only substantially reducing carbon emissions and the cost of transport - being three to four times more energy-efficient than conventional cars - but also enhancing air quality and noise levels in cities.

The electrification of vehicles can also contribute to integrating more electricity from intermittent renewable sources, if they act as flexible load charging when renewable supply is high and prices are low. This is one of the major topics highlighted in a recent EURELECTRIC paper on smart charging benefits for the power system and society as a whole.
