Europe and Japan are in the midst of a transformational
change of their energy sectors. The electricity
sector is at the heart of this transformation and policies being
considered and implemented in Japan and the EU will play a crucial
role in this process.
The European Commission, EURELECTIC and the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, in cooperation with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, are pleased to organise an EU-Japan Workshop in Tokyo to exchange views on recent changes and future trends in the power sectors of Europe and Japan. The main objective is to improve the mutual understanding of the sector developments and to share insights and lessons learned about key features of EU and Japanese energy policies.
At this workshop, energy policymakers and industry executives will explain their current challenges and present their future strategies. Representatives from both industry and policy-making are invited to give their views and information on solutions they are contemplating.
Key discussion topics will be: energy transition, electricity market liberalisation, and innovation.
