Angel Tradacete

Mr. Tradacete is since November 1998 Director at the European Commission - Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP), in charge of Directorate COMP-E (Cartels, Basic Industries and Energy). He is an economist from the Complutense University of Madrid and has an advanced certificate in Business Studies from the City of London Polytechnic, as well as a Diploma in European Communities from the Spanish Diplomatic School. After two years working as external auditor and fiscal advisor for a multinational audit firm (1974 and 1975) he assumed responsibilities as Financial Manager and Director-General in various international private companies/groups in Spain, France and South America (1976 to 1987). Following more than 12 years' experience in the private sector, Mr. Tradacete became a principal administrator at the European Commission in 1988. During the last 16 years as a European Commission official he has occupied several posts (Head of Sector, Head of Unit and Acting Director) in the Directorates-General for Trade and for External Relations, until his appointment as Director in DG COMP.
