Hans Haider

Elected President of the Union of the Electricity Industry-EURELECTRIC in June 2002, Dipl.Ing Hans Haider is Chairman of the Managing Board and Chief Executive Officer of leading Austrian power group Verbund. Mr Haider joined Verbund in 1994, after serving as a member of Siemens AG Austria's managing board and as Chief Executive Officer of Siemens' independent Audio-Video Systems business unit, with world-wide responsibility. Born in 1942, Hans Haider is an Engineering graduate of the Technical University of Vienna. Apart from his work for EURELECTRIC's founder-body UNIPEDE, and for EURELECTRIC, Mr Haider has served on other energy sector bodies both in Austria and worldwide, including the World Energy Council.
