Inge Pierre

Mr. Pierre was born in Sweden in 1955 and has a Master of Science as mechanical engineer from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Mr. Pierre joined the Swedish electricity company Vattenfall in 1980 and during more than 20 years he had several different positions as manager for technical offices as well as staff groups. During 1985-86 Mr. Pierre worked for the Swedish Technical Attaché System and was based in Washington, D.C., USA. Since January 2002 Mr. Pierre works for Swedenergy, the Swedish Association for most of the Swedish electricity companies. Among present working responsibilities are technical and political analysis of energy issues in Sweden, some standardisation work and to provide service to the members. However, the major working responsibility is to represent the Swedish electricity industry in several working groups within EURELECTRIC and to co-ordinate the Swedish activities within EURELECTRIC. Late in 2002 EURELECTRIC created the working group "Ensuring Investments" and Mr. Pierre was appointed as the Chairman of this WG. The aim for the working group was to present a report by the end of 2003 in which the issue to ensure the investments in electricity generation, transmission and distribution in the liberalised market was described and some recommendations were given. Mr. Pierre is married and has two daughters, 11 and 14 years old.
