President and Director The Boston Consulting Group Mr. Yvan Jansen is a vice president
and director of The Boston Consulting Group. He is the leader of a major research
effort that has been exploring how deregulation, growing demand for electricity,
changes in the mix of power-generation technologies, and environmental goals could
affect the electricity market in Europe. Its findings were published in a recent
report, "Keeping the Lights On: Navigating choices in European Power Generation."
A core member of BCG's Energy Practice, Mr. Jansen has worked extensively with
power generators, grid and network companies, gas marketers, and distributors.
He has helped clients in scenario planning and creating strategies, assessing
mergers and alliances, devising and implementing corporate restructurings and
transformation programs, improving the effectiveness of their organizations, and
enhancing customer service. Based in Brussels, Mr. Jansen joined The Boston Consulting
Group in 1990 and has also worked in the firm's offices in Paris and London. He
studied Law at Leuven (KUL), earned a Master's degree in economics at Louvain
(UCL), and received an MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of
Business.
