Design of a Compact Off Shore SubStation |
| Project Category |
Transmission&Distribution: High-Efficiency Transformers |
| Project Location |
Netherlands Northsee |
| Project Description |
The core design element is to remove the heavy oil based transformers on an offshore substation, including their space and weight consuming auxiliary systems such as protection, oil store / dumping tanks etc. By using both Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Gas Insulated Transformers (GIT) the COSS-platform design delivers an optimal weight/power ratio compared to conventional offshore substations. Due to the lack of oil the risk for fire or explosions have been reduced to virtually zero. The weight reduction leads to more installation flexibility due to the amount and availability of appropriate installation vessels. |

| Project Description |
Alliander is investing in electric driving (E-transport). In this way, we can help set up a reliable infrastructure of charging points. We are investigating the consequences of various ways of charging, both for customers and for the electricity grid. We advise municipalities, companies and private persons about sustainable transport. We also encourage our customers to share their ideas with us. Together, we will move towards a sustainable future. There are countless projects under development to promote electric driving. Liander is working on and contributing ideas to a variety of activities in this area. Examples of projects are: Stichting E-laad.nl, Amsterdam Elektrisch, Fastcharging network The Netherlands etc. |
