Digitopia panel – The AI race: What is the role of the European power sector?

AI is reshaping the energy sector—with opportunities to change the way we forecast, optimise assets, and operate with real-time management. While Europe is not currently leading in the race for providing general-purpose AI, the question now is: where should we focus, and where are the real opportunities? This panel explores how Europe can accelerate meaningful AI adoption in the energy sector.
Should EU funding prioritise general-purpose AI models, or focus on targeted, sector-specific applications? What does the industry need to scale up AI deployment in terms of technical capacity, regulatory clarity, and innovation agenda? We’ll also examine the European Commission’s forthcoming AI roadmap and how it can support the power sector’s digital transformation while ensuring Europe’s leadership in clean and smart energy.

How can digitalisation enable smarter prioritisation, quicker approvals, and better coordination between developers and grid operators? EVision – Plugging into Potential: unleashing the untapped flexibility of EVs

This session will discuss the untapped potential of EVs in offering flexibility to the electricity grid for both. As the world moves toward decarbonisation, the integration of EVs with the energy system represents a significant, yet largely untapped, resource for flexibility and enhancing power system resilience. The first panel will delve into the benefits for the grid operator and the wider system, while the last panel discussion will focus on consumer benefits of EV flexibility.
Energy Transition Innovators Pitching Competition

Enlit and Eurelectric are delighted to once again co-host an afternoon of innovation. This year’s programme will feature three 60-minute pitch sessions, where clean energy start-ups will showcase breakthrough technologies and solutions to accelerate the energy transition. Each session will be evaluated by a professional jury, which will select a winner at the end of the day.
