Eurelectric breakfast – Decarbonisation Pathways: European Economy

In December the electricity sector launched its Vision Statement that reiterates our industry’s ambition to lead Europe’s energy transition in a cost-effective way by becoming carbon neutral well-before 2050.  To substantiate this vision, Eurelectric released a set of deep EU decarbonisation scenarios powered by electrification, thus strengthening its commitment to lead the clean energy transition. The results show that decisive action on climate change is needed to meet the goals set by the Paris agreement which requires a major shift to electricity in transport, buildings and industry in the EU.
