Market Design Day, the second event of an annual series of discussions on aspects of electricity market design to be hosted by Eurelectric, will consider the potential of Regional Capacity Markets as a design option for the European electricity market. Regional Capacity Markets, designed to encompass several Member States, have been discussed as a possible future option to harness the complementarity of Europe’s energy resources and maximise security of supply.
Compass Lexecon and Eurelectric will present a joint study of the merits and challenges of Regional Capacity Markets, with opportunities for attendees to reflect and further discuss the issues presented in the report with electricity market design experts from across industry, Member-States and European institutions.
