Power Plant 2.0: Electrify in harmony with nature

13 June 2024 ∙ 09:30—12:30 ∙ Eurelectric Offices

Two years ago the power sector committed for the first time to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss in synchrony. With a show-don’t tell mindset, our sector has developed integrated renewable projects, adopted nature-friendly practices, involved local communities and learned by doing.

Our decarbonisation efforts can already lower risks to biodiversity by up to 75% and contribute to save more than €5 trillion of climate-change-induced global economic losses. And we can do even more…

On 13 June, Eurelectric will present their new study developed by WSP: A toolbox to help industry understand their impact and set robust actions to accelerate a renewables and grids build out that protects the environment. A set of 12 principles for biodiversity integration combined with qualitative success factors and quantitative methods. Discover with us how developers can retain natural habitats, protect endangered species, and even create new possibilities for wildlife to flourish.

During the event, policy makers, industry representatives and NGOS will also discuss key enabling factors for scaling up nature-inclusive design.
