Scaling Flexibility – Moving from pilots to system-wide deployment

12 November 2026 ∙ Enlit Europe, Vienna, Austria

As electricity demand accelerates and grid congestion becomes more widespread, flexibility is moving from promising pilot projects to a core pillar of Europe's power system. Beyond shifting demand in response to prices, flexibility is increasingly supporting congestion management, frequency control and overall system stability. This session will explore how Europe can scale local flexibility markets and demand-side participation from isolated demonstrations to system-wide deployment, unlocking existing grid capacity, reducing consumer costs and enabling faster electrification.
