Winds of Change: Unlocking the New Energy Potential in South East Europe

28 June 2018 ∙ 13:30—18:00 ∙ Sense Hotel, Sofia, Bulgaria

Technology and construction costs for wind power are falling quickly. As EU institutions are finalising the negotiations on the RES Directive with a mandate for higher ambition on renewables and strengthened regional cooperation, Eurelectric and Wind Europe invite you to a workshop to discuss the specific challenges in the South East Europe region, in particular in Bulgaria, Romania and Greece.

The wind energy potential in these countries is undeniably high and is one of the keys to the decarbonisation of this region. But these markets are still seen as high risk investment destinations due to unstable and often changing renewable energy policies and insufficient interconnectivity to their neighbours.

Let’s explore together the conditions for enabling the future deployment of wind energy projects in South East Europe.
