Council insufficiently ambitious on transport decarbonisation

Reacting to yesterday’s Council vote on CO2 standards for cars & vans, Kristian Ruby said:

“Council raised the bar a little higher than the European Commission. But it is clearly not enough. Policymakers need to take responsibility seriously and act for the good of citizens”

Eurelectric maintains that a target of at least 40% carbon reductions in transport is both technically and economically feasible. In addition, we insist on the need for a proper bonus/malus system to ensure that the sales benchmark of zero- and low-emission vehicles is working.
