Eurelectric wins leadership award at the European Association Awards 2019

29 March 2019

Recognising the deep evolution of Eurelectric, the European Association Awards granted our organisation a bronze award for leadership. In as little as one year, our organisation embarked on a full reinvention of itself to become recognised as leader of the energy transition. It aimed at reflecting the reality of our industry, which is in a process of full decarbonisation, massive investment in renewables, digitalisation and development of new services and solutions for customers.

Eurelectric adopted a Vision statement developed and signed at CEO level, committing our industry to a full decarbonisation well before 2050 and to support the decarbonisation of other major sectors of the economy through electrification. It repositioned Eurelectric and the EU electricity industry as the front-runners of the decarbonisation agenda.

New ways of working were also put in place, whereby Eurelectric changed its working structures and methods, established new communications practices, restructured its lobbying tactics and reviewed its brand. Moreover, Eurelectric also embarked on a number of co-creation projects with its business associates, thus transforming itself into an outward-looking organisation cooperating with new technology, service providers and connected industries in the transport and building sectors.
