Paul Bulteel’s passing

7 October 2020

We are sad to share with you the passing away of Paul Bulteel, former Secretary General of Eurelectric.

Before joining Eurelectric, Paul occupied senior management positions within Electrabel.

Leading Eurelectric between 1997 and 2007, Paul was an ardent defender of the European electricity industry. Very active in the debates around electricity liberalisation, unbundling, but also renewables development and climate action. Paul was a visionary. Back in 2007, he launched “The role of electricity”, a major study already announcing the great prospect of decarbonisation and society’s electrification.

During his time as Secretary General of Eurelectric, Paul was also founding Chairman of the Alliance for a Competitive European Industry.

As he retired, Paul became an award winning photographer, contributing to numerous exhibitions and publications. In 2021, his photographs will be shown in the Museum of civilisation in Marseille (MUCEM). You will find some of these and more here: http://www.paulbulteel.eu/
