Hiven connects smart appliances with the energy market through the cloud. Consumers only need to tell us when they need their car – or what temperature they would like their home – we handle the rest! We automatically smart charge and smart heat when electricity is at its cheapest and greenest – or react when the power system needs flexibility.
Hiven offers energy retailers an easy to implement B2B2C product, that includes:
- Easy to implement front-end features
- Cloud connectivity to smart home appliances and EVs charging, making it easy for consumers to use
- Automatic smart energy management for charging and heating

Hiven, as a B2B2C service provider to energy retailers:

Hiven helps energy retailers modernise their offering to high-margin customers such as EV drivers and electrically heated households. Our product is responding to three trends:

  • Customers demanding new services and becoming more aware of their energy consumption.
  • Smarter homes and appliances.
  • Electrification of heating and transport adding new connection points in the home.

By connecting smart appliances through the cloud to energy markets, Hiven provides a service to retailers that want to offer their customers something more and so retain high-margin customers.

“Our energy retail partners are able to not just gain and retain high margin electricity customers – but together we help consumers across Europe take part in the energy transition in a hassle-free way. As easy as it should be!” – Jani Leirimaa, CEO Hiven Energy

The products offered to consumers:

With the B2B2C service, Hiven is a way to provide end-users with new services via their energy supplier that help them in taking part in the energy transition. The Hiven product has been built to make it as easy to use as possible for energy retailers and their customers.

Currently we help residential consumers:

  • Consume energy based on variability in the cost (from SPOT-based pricing, variability in fees, levies and tariffs, variability in pricing models for EV drivers etc.)
  • Consume energy based on levels of CO2 in the grid
  • Consume energy based on own renewable production
  • React to flexibility needs in the power system

“The aim for these types of services should be to combine value to the consumer, value to the retailer and value to the power system -  all automatically” – Jani Leirimaa, CEO Hiven Energy

An example of current commercial cases:

Barry, a modern digital energy retailer offering variable pricing to consumers in Denmark and France has embedded the Hiven B2B2C product in their service offering to consumers. Customers of Barry in both France and Denmark can currently connect their Tesla’s through the Barry UI and access optimised charging automatically.

Customers of Barry can save an estimate of 30% of their charging costs by consuming during the cheapest hours. Soon, with Hiven, Barry customers will also be able to combine savings with environmental impact and charge when there is less CO2 in the grid.
