In this model, a photovoltaic system is installed on the building’s roof, and the generated energy is distributed among the participating units. Each resident maintains their individual energy contract but benefits from the shared solar energy, leading to reduced electricity bills.
Participants receive a financial incentive from the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), which provides economic contributions for 20 years for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of shared energy.
Beyond financial savings, these communities contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing COâ‚‚ emissions using renewable energy sources. They also foster social benefits by promoting energy solidarity and helping to alleviate energy poverty.
Edison manages the entire process, including feasibility studies, system design, installation, maintenance, and administrative support to access incentives.
This comprehensive approach simplifies the transition to renewable energy for condominium residents, offering a turnkey solution that benefits all participants.
Many residential buildings are not equipped to individually manage photovoltaic systems or navigate complex regulatory and incentive frameworks. Edison solves this by offering a turnkey solution that enables entire condominiums to join in energy communities. This allows residents to collectively produce, share, and consume solar energy while benefiting from long-term economic incentives and reducing their carbon footprint.
Edison Energia has signed 78 new condominiums energy self-consumption communities contracts so far, of which 50% already installed. The overall capacity signed is 3,7 MW, the total capacity installed is 1,9 MW.
