Nurmijärven Sähkö employs an energy advisor. He assists our customers with all energy-related matters concerning electricity, heating, and mobility. Customers can contact him by phone, email, or schedule an appointment at our office. The energy advisor also makes home visits in Nurmijärvi and its surrounding areas. Most of our advisory services are free of charge for customers.
The energy advisor was hired to assist customers during our company’s 100th anniversary in 2018. We wanted to improve the level of energy advice and help our customers save energy. We also collaborate with the municipality of Nurmijärvi, for example, by organizing various energy-saving events for residents. Topics of these events have included, for example, electric vehicle charging, solar power, and home BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
We publish a customer magazine three times a year, which also includes a column by the energy advisor. The column covers current topics related to energy saving. Our customers are satisfied with the energy advisor’s services and especially appreciate that the advisor can explain things to them in layman’s terms without technical jargon, if necessary.
Energy advisor services
Our customers need the energy advisor’s help with many energy-related questions. The energy advisor’s services include, for example:

- energy-efficient use of electrical appliances
- adjusting heating and heat distribution
- optimal use of the fireplace and air source heat pump

- technical updates to the property, calculated service lives, and the correct timing of investments
- additional thermal insulation, replacement or sealing of windows and exterior doors
- charging of electric and hybrid vehicles and the current electrical readiness of the property
- choosing the heating method, various options, and budget calculations
- profitability and sizing calculations for solar power systems, tips for improving the profitability of the
