Wind power plays a major role as we move towards carbon neutrality. Helen’s wind power production will grow significantly in the coming years, and in the long term the total amount will be as high as 4,000 gigawatt hours, almost all of Helsinki’s electricity consumption! A significant step forward is the Lakiakangas 3 wind farm project.
One of the wind farm’s 20 wind turbines has been chosen as a nominated wind turbine and with Omatuuli Helen is offering customers the opportunity to buy shares of its production.

The start-up fee for Omatuuli is around 50-60€ and you get one share of the wind turbine production for your use for two years. The monthly price is then around 2 € per month and the nominal power of one share is 100 watts. The power produced by a wind turbine will vary with weather conditions but the estimated annual production of one section is about 310 kWh. One year of production thus corresponds to about 16% of a small apartment’s annual electricity consumption.
